The Boston Bandits (Empire) have won five straight games and inched within two points of a playoff spot. The thought of the team being within reach of a playoff spot after this weekend would have been a long shot. However the Bandits grabbed all eight available points at the Huskies showcase in Fitchburgh.
After scoring an unprecedented ten goals against Bay State, the Bandits rolled into the Huskies showcase on fire. The offense would stay hot in the first game as they hung ten on the Space Coast Hurricanes as well. Paul Fregeau led the way with a hat trick and leading scorer Tyler Drevitch added four helpers in a 10-2 rout. The Bandits would take a couple hour break and face the Florida Eels later that day. Once again Drevitch and Fregeau would lead the Bandits to victory. The Eels were held to just ten shots in an 8-1 loss.
In the third and biggest game of the weekend, the Bandits faced the Philadelphia Revolution. The Revolution currently sit sixth in the Western Conference. Tyler Drevitch matched Fregeaus hat trick yesterday with one of his own. The Bandits rolled to a 6-1 romp of the Revolution.
In the Bandits final game of the showcase, they were finally tested against Maxsymuum. The Bandits fell behind 3-1 in the second, but were able to score four unanswered goals to complete their very successful weekend.
